America is in shock that reality TV star and frequent Howard Stern guest, Donald Trump, said comments such as “Your girl’s hot as s—” and “I did try and f— her. She was married.” Clearly the man is not a Christian, nor fit to be the pastor of your local church. However, this is the part that bothers me: why is everyone all up in arms about this?
Eph 4:29 states: “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.”
Okay, all you self-righteous Christians out there. If you are so angry at Trump for being so vulgar, here’s a challenge for you in which to prove your virtue. You own a computer, otherwise you would not be reading this. Chances are, you have a webcam sticking out on the top.
Go stick your webcam on record and let it run on Youtube for the next two weeks–just don’t take your computer into the bathroom with you.
Do you honestly think that everything you say is going to be consistent with Eph 4:29? Who are you backbiting? What racially insensitive remarks do you make? What raunchy humor do you casually indulge in? What curse words do you yell when you cut yourself by mistake? How do you talk with your spouse? What tone do you use?
While you are at it, in the comments section here, copy and paste your browsing history for the last two weeks.
Spare me your phony self-righteousness, if you can’t let the webcam run you are no different than the Pharisees–a white washed tomb.
Do you think you impress God with your self-righteousness? Do you know that “every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment” (Matt 12:36)?
How will you escape judgement? You won’t if it is by your own righteousness.
Americans must wake up to the fact that the wool is being pulled over their eyes. Just this week:
- The Department of Justice dropped a case against an arms dealer that threaten to reveal Hillary Clinton’s role as Secretary of State in selling weapons to Syrian terrorists
- A NSA contractor was arrested for allegedly downloading classified documents on a private server (Note: Hillary Clinton was exonerated even though she is publicly guilty of the same thng)
- Clinton’s campaign colluded with a Superpac (this is a Federal felony as official campaigns are not supposed to have any dealings with Superpacs)
- A leaked transcript of one of her speeches stated that she wanted “open trade” and “open borders.”
At least the last news story did not involve overtly criminal activity, something the previous three do.
So, if you are joining in the chorus that want to hang Trump for his thoughtcrime, first take a hard look at yourself AND then ask yourself why is the media is not putting the same emphasis on Clinton’s actual crimes.
I just can’t imagine any of our great presidents, Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, having been that disrespectful of anyone. It’s a character flaw, if this guy can’t keep from insulting his own electorate – then how is he bound to treat foreign dignitaries?
You know that verse about salt water not coming from a freshwater spring? If you’re in the habit of cursing, it’s a hard habit to break. But if you’re not in the habit, then it’s as easy as pie to not do something you wouldn’t ordinarily do. Trump’s not the kind of guy to be able to do things he wouldn’t ordinarily do. Out here the closest people come to being insulting is: “Bless his/her heart …” or “God love him/her …” and other southern sayings. Vulgarity is just how it isn’t done.
I think that both parties could have offered up any number of other candidates, men and women who are much more civil and much more transparent – but these two had the money to buy their spots and that’s the ultimate factor at play here. Since I don’t view money as my master – neither of them are getting my vote.
Who said Trump would be great, good, or okay LOL Lyndon Johnson and Nixon had filthy mouths 😉
I’ve prayed about it and he just makes my skin crawl. The hatred, the arrogance, the outright disrespect for others, etc. I’ve spent a good amount of time in another country that had been lead by this kind of hatred and it’s a scary place to be. I know he is not a Christian but there are many intelligent leaders leaders in our country (some who are not Christian) who conduct themselves differently, at least publicly. It’s a matter of personal integrity and self-control. I am a Christian and my thoughts are not always right, but you could have a web cam follow me all day and you wouldn’t see anything different than what you see of me at church on Sunday mornings, it is a matter of self-discipline and training and concern for how you treat others and the example you put before others that are looking to you as an example. It’s not easy, but it is a choice. We are able to commit crimes with the tongue, and Mr. Trump has done far more than that. I can tell you that I wouldn’t want him reading to a classroom of young children, like other presidents have done, because he doesn’t control his tongue or care who he hurts with it. I understand that Hillary has committed crimes as well, but her public personal discipline is far better. I don’t want to vote for either one, so my plan is to pray, vote, pray some more and remember that God is sovereign and that He can can bring any evil leader to his or her knees.
I am consider Darrel Castle of the Constitution Party–he’s the only Christian running: http://castle2016.com/platform/
BTW Chris, you are one of the few people which I think can take on the challenge 🙂 I think my wife and I can as well, though if I were running for President I think many of my politically-incorrect views would be enough to embarrass me. But, having worked with tons of men in small businesses and what not (where there is no fear of a HR department coming down on you) Trump’s comments are tame, and to me, the outrage among non-Christians (and many Christian hypocrites) is uncalled for. Those who really don’t have the beam in their own eye can point their finger at Trump’s huge splinter.
God bless,
Craig
Yes. So horrible that Trump wants to stop the Islamic invasion Obama is flying over here. How horrible. Just shocking. Please, just deport yourself to Saudi Arabia already. Islam is totally compatible with your doctrines of disgrace after all, since Mohammed says “Oh unbelievers, if Allah had willed it, you would not be unbeleivers.” Now we know Calvin was reading the Koran not the Bible.
