In this series we will be giving 25 reasons why the Jehovah’s Witnesses have their Christology and Trinitarian theology wrong. We will make our case right from the Scriptures:

  1. The Son is called God because of Phil 2:10 and Rom 14:11.

We already covered what Phil 2:10 actually says (“so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW (πᾶν γόνυ κάμψῃ), of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth.”) Rom 14:11 appears to make clear that it is in reference to God: “For it is written, ‘AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE (ὅτι ἐμοὶ κάμψει πᾶν γόνυ καὶ ἐξομολογήσεται) TO GOD.'”

Where is Paul quoting? Is 45:23 has Jehovah stating, “I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear [i.e. confess] (LXX, Greek Old Testament : ὅτι ἐμοὶ κάμψει πᾶν γόνυ καὶ ἐξομολογήσεται).”

Phil 2:10 and Rom 14:11 clearly are about the same verse in the Greek version of Is 45:23. Phil 2:10 specifically says it is to Jesus Christ everyone in heaven and Earth will bow to. Therefore, Jesus Christ is Jehovah.
